Spring Weekly Update #5

Big, big week filled with updates! Eryk and I put in 110% effort getting new versions of our animatic ready for Work in Progress Screenings next week.

Environment:

- Studio: Eryk made final edits to the game show studio including adding a back to the entrance building, fixing the exit door, and curving the game board for a more pleasing shape.

- Realm #1: Siobhan assembled experimental realm #1 by putting elements of the studio into one scene. There are now floating letters and moving pieces animated via expressions.

- Realm #2: Siobhan also assembled experimental realm #2 by placing girders and other models in one scene. The door staircase is now finalized with an updated door model. Each door has been edited with deformers to create a more organic look.

- Realm #3: was also edited to have more doors floating around. It was recreated from a previous version with expressions so each door floats, swings open, and rotates in a circle.

Animation:

- Splining: 25 shots have been splined! They will get one last polish before completion. There are 10 shots remaining to spline, and they will be done by the end of next week.

- Lip Sync: This process has been going very well for the splined shots so far, and about 3 shots remain with lip sync still needed.

- Updated Animatic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVzlA05PHeI

Audio:

- Game Show Theme: there are some issues with the plug-in being used (Serum), but otherwise the music is sounding very catchy! Eryk's draft will be included in our upcoming animatic.

- Experimental Music: Eryk is crafting an absolute banger that is both whimsical and ominous.

- Nicky/Announcer Audio: actor Russ Gannon has provided us final audio for the film! It's being used for lip sync as we speak.

Game Show Logo:

Siobhan created a mock-up for the Guess Who's Knockin'? logo. First, she found reference logos and made note of important elements throughout popular designs. She then found potential fonts and determined the best one with Eryk. The result is a beauteous work in progress.

To Do:

- Fix curtain simulation

- Complete lip sync

- Finish splining

- Finish draft music

Song of the Day: RIP Harambe
